"eXtra" opens its 7th branch in Riyadh & targets Jubail and Jizan within the next five months.

Riyadh, February 2011: The United Electronics Company “eXtra” launched its seventh branch in Riyadh and the eighteenth in a series of stores scattered all over the Kingdom.
On this occasion, Mohammad Galal, Chief Executive Officer of United Electronic Company ” eXtra ” said that: the company has managed through opening its new branch to demonstrate its leadership in the retail sector of electronic and household appliances in Riyadh city in particular and the Kingdom in general, to keep in pace with the needs of the city’s population the number of which exceeds 5 million people, to acquires new share in the market the volume of which is more than 5 billion Riyals, which represents approximately 20% of the total size of the Saudi market in this field which amounts between 19 and up to 22 billion Riyals.
Galal revealed that the opening of the seventh branch is considered the first branch of the company within the current year, since the company shall increase the number of its branches in the Kingdom, by opening a second branch in Dammam, opening its first branch in each of Jizan and Jubail cities within the next five months.
After the success that exceeded its expectations represented in the opening of its new branch in Tabuk city late last year, the company pursues the same approach and proceed with implementation of its expansion strategy aimed at opening branches in the promising cities with population of more than 200 thousand people.
It should be noted that “eXtra” earned the first place among companies specialized in the retail field in the list of the ten fastest growing Saudi companies for the second consecutive time within two years, according to the classification conducted annually by the Saudi Market Investment Authority, also it has achieved the first place in the Distinction Awards provided by the Arabian Business Magazine within the Saudi-sector for retail sales mid last year, it should be noted that the growth rate of the company’s sales amounted to 201 percent for the period from 2005 up to 2010, which represents three times the sales in 2005.
