Khobar, Saudi Arabia; November, 2011: United Electronics Company (eXtra), Saudi Arabia’s fastest-growing consumer electronics and home appliance retailer, announced today the opening of the newest eXtra store in Dammam, raising the company’s nationwide network to 21 stores.
This 2,600-square-meter store, eXtra’s second in Dammam, serves a population of 900,000, offering them more than 3,500 different items from across the company’s award-winning product range.
The opening of eXtra’s 21st store in the Kingdom follows the launch earlier this year of the company’s first stores in Hafr al Batin and Najran, as well as the opening of its seventh store in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. By the end of this year, eXtra plans to open three additional stores – in Jubail, Al Kharj and Jeddah – raising its total network to 24 stores.
“We are very pleased to announce the opening of our second store in Dammam, serving nearly one million residents of the city and a wider metropolitan population of roughly 2.5 million,” said Mohammad Galal, Chief Executive Officer, United Electronics Company (eXtra). “Based on the overwhelming success of our flagship store in Saudi Arabia’s third-largest city, we expect to see a significant consumer response to the opening of our second store in Dammam.”
Currently, eXtra provides the over 9 million customers it serves annually with more than 12,000 products across its 21 stores – serving almost 90 percent of the population of Saudi Arabia.
In addition, eXtra recently introduced its online shopping portal (www.extra.com), the first fully fledged electronics and home appliance website of its kind in the Kingdom. |
